We all need some levity, so please enjoy this special Pete Buttigieg monologue.
Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s Guest Host Monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
From Jimmy Kimmel Live: “With Jimmy out hosting ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’ the recently unemployed Mayor Pete Buttigieg steps in as guest host. Due to public health concerns over the Coronavirus, we cancelled our studio audience, but a few staffers and some friends sat in the crowd at the CDC-recommended distance apart.”
“The former presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg, who was guest-hosting “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” joked: “But when you don’t have a real audience, you have to fake one, just like Trump’s inauguration.”” [NYT].
Excerpt: “Due to public health concerns over the coronavirus — we have cancelled the studio audience tonight. But a few kind Kimmel staffers and some friends, my husband Chasten are here instead — we’re gonna have a great time. Everyone is spread apart at the CDC-recommended distance,” he said during his opening monologue. “This was not our plan. We just decided this a few hours ago. And it’s disappointing, because as you all know, I love to crowd surf. It’s kinda my thing.”
